Oftentimes, people’s minds drift to clothes and money when they think about something to donate. Those are two things that everyone has, and there are plenty of places that accept clothes and money. Churches are always looking for both to help out underprivileged people.
But, have you ever thought to donate a car in Utah?
That’s right, you can actually donate your car in the Beehive State. This article will run over some of the fantastic reasons why you should consider donating your car.
It’s a Good Way to Get Rid of a Damaged Vehicle
You don’t need to have the greatest car with all the bells and whistles to donate your car in Utah.
Many car donation services will take damaged cars, even some that are undrivable. Instead of going through the old conundrum of trying to decide if it’s worth paying a lot of money to fix up the car, donate it instead.
Services have a tow-truck option and will come to pick up the car for you; there’s no need to worry about taking your car to the donation location.
Tax Benefits
While this one may have been obvious from the start, it’s worth mentioning the tax benefits that come with donations.
As you may know, anything you donate can be used as a tax deduction when Uncle Sam comes calling. So while you may look at selling your car and making a profit, you’re going to be helping yourself while donating.
The deduction depends upon the make, model, and condition of the car, but it’s not uncommon for people to often chop off around $1,000 with their donation.
It’s Easier than Selling
While Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and eBay have made online selling easy, it can still be a huge pain.
You’ve got to post your listing, get it approved, handle plenty of messages, bargain with prospective buyers, pick out a time where you can both meet, and then finally meet.
After all that, they may decide they don’t want your item!
Donating is incredibly easy, as all it takes is a quick phone-call or search on Google Maps. You can have a tow truck come get your vehicle or take the car to a donation center yourself.
Frees up Space
One of the biggest things about donating is being able to free up space in your garage or house. Americans already have a ton of stuff, and moving on from a car is a perfect way to get rid of that excess stuff.
Plus, it’s not going to require some big spring cleaning project. You can simply call the tow truck or drive the car away and magic! You have plenty of more space in your garage.
You’re Changing Lives
Moving on from the more factual reasons above and onto the heartstrings- donating a car can change someone’s life.
You could be helping an underprivileged family, someone who needs a car to be able to pick up their kids after work, or by helping someone be able to hold a job. So, if you have an unused car that’s lying around, make a donation instead of trying to sell it. Not only are you going to be gifted with all the benefits above, but you will also be changing and helping a life.
