How to Deal with Procrastination

One of the most important parts of getting things done is simply starting and, unfortunately that’s where many of us fail. While we want to finish that important thing, there’s a hundred others that distract us instead. You probably know what that feels like. There’s a project you need to finish next week and you can complete it today if you want to. It’s 10 a.m. on a Saturday, you start your computer to get to work… and suddenly you accidentally spent the entire day browsing the internet or scrolling through Facebook.

You did the same things and procrastinated the entire week until finally the deadline is tomorrow. You now need to rush the project and with that quality of work it’ll be difficult to get a good grade. I know that’s what I was like when I was a student, and I know I shouldn’t be like that for the rest of my life. You probably think so too if you have the procrastination habit.

So how do you stop yourself from wasting time? Here are a few short tips from Napoleon Hill that can help you overcome procrastination. This isn’t just for getting school work or office projects done. You can also use this for your lifelong goals and aspirations.

Nagorder ka na ba sa isang magandang restaurant kahit mas sulit kumain sa isang fast food restaurant? Nagbayad ka na ba para sa isang massage, spa treatment, o guided tour ng isang lugar kahit hindi mo naman ito kailangan? Nagtaxi ka na ba kahit pwede ka namang maglakad ng isang oras para mapuntahan ang lugar na kailangan mong puntahan? Nagdonate ka na ba sa charity?

Itinanong mo na ba sa sarili mo kung bakit mo ginawa ang mga iyon?

Kung natutunan mong itanong at sagutin ang tanong na iyon para sa sarili at sa ibang tao, natutunan mo na ang isa sa pinakamahalagang payo tungkol sa sales. Kung hindi mo pa alam gamitin ito, malamang magsasayang ka ng maraming oras sa advertising para sa iyong negosyo at sa mga job hunting services. Kapag marami kang gustong makamit sa buhay, kailangan mabilis kang magdesisyon.

Alam mo ba na madalas akong lumabas at uminom ng kape para magisip ng mga bagong Your Wealthy Mind articles? Ang High Street area ng Bonifacio Global City (BGC) ay parang mahabang liwasan na may maraming tindahan tulad ng nasa loob ng malls, masasarap na kainan, at mga coffee shops. Bukod sa Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, at Seattle’s Best, naroon din ang mga gusto kong Filipino coffee shop tulad ng Bo’s, Figaro, at Local Edition. Mayroon ding Cafe de Lipa sa Market Market at % Arabica sa may 30th street.

Madalas inaabot ako ng 20 minutos sa paglalakad bago ako magdesisyonn kung saan ako tatambay, iinom ng kape, at saka magiisip ng mga bagong aral at articles na gusto kong isulat para sa inyo dito. Sa kasamaang palad, hindi iyon mabuti at, sa oras na ito, hindi ito tungkol sa mamahaling kape.

If you want to accomplish more things in life, you have to learn to make decisions quickly.

Did you know that I often go out for coffee when brainstorming for new Your Wealthy Mind articles? Bonifacio Global City (BGC)’s High Street area is like a long open park with shopping mall-like stores, quality restaurants, and good coffee shops. Aside from the usual Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Seattle’s Best, there’s also my favorite Filipino coffee stores like Bo’s, Figaro, and Local Edition. There’s also Cafe de Lipa in Market Market and % Arabica near 30th street.

It takes me around 20 minutes of walking before I finally decide where I want to stay, order coffee, and then think about all the new lessons and articles I want to write for you here. Unfortunately, that’s not a good thing and it’s not about “overpriced coffee” this time.
