Some time ago the Makati City government announced that they’ll give P5,000 cash aid to Makati citizens, and they called this the MAKA-tulong 5k for 500K+ Makatizens program”. To learn more about the details, just read the links below:
- Makati to give P5,000 aid each to 500,000 residents
- Makati to give P5,000 per qualified resident under economic aid program
You can apply for this at your Barangay, but you can also apply online. Now how do you apply for the P5,000 cash aid online? Read our guide here!
How to Apply for the P5,000 Cash Aid from Makati?
What do you need?
- You need to be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a Makati city resident, or a resident in one of their relocation sites at Calauan, Laguna or San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
- You have to be registered with Makati city as a Makatizen cardholder, a Yellow card holder of the Makati Health Plus Program, or a voter in Makati.
- You need some Valid IDs (Makatizen card, Yellow card, Comelec ID, Passport, Driver’s License, or some other valid government ID).
- You need a VERIFIED GCash Account under your name*. Read our guide about how to use GCash here!
- Cellphone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
*Each member applying for cash aid needs their own GCash account. You will not receive the money if the name on the GCash account is different from the Makati citizen applying for the cash aid.
What else will you need? A clear profile picture and a clear picture of your valid ID which you will upload on the Makatizen app or website.
How to Apply Online?
You can do this on their Makatizen App at the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Register at the app and click on the MAKA-TULONG button at the bottom.
Warning: I tried using the Makatizen app, but I could not upload my profile picture as there seems to be an error with the app. I was able to complete my application using my computer.
Steps to apply online
- Go to their website: https://www.makatulong.com/
- Click the “MAKA-tulong” button then click the “Apply Now!” link.
- Choose if you are a Yellow Card holder or if you are a Voter and search for your name and Barangay.
- Warning: Read the instructions for typing your name carefully. For voters, you should not put a space when typing your first name, and if you have more than one firstname use only your first TWO names (still no space).
- On step 1, upload your profile picture and type your personal details.
- For details without an asterisk (*) like extension names (“Jr.”/”Sr.”) or building name, if you have no relevant information here like if you don’t have “Jr.” or “Sr.” in your name, you don’t have a “building name” since you live in your own house, or you’re single so you don’t have anything to put on your “spouse details”, you can just leave them blank.
- On step 2, upload the picture of your valid ID, type the relevant contact numbers, GCash cellphone number, and other relevant details regarding your work and education.
- On step 3, type the details of your “person to contact in case of emergency” as well as your spouse if you have one (if you’re unmarried, leave this blank).
- On step 4 which is for senior citizens only, you have to put the details of your beneficiary. Leave this blank if you’re not yet a senior citizen.
- On step 5, double check your details and confirm it once you’re sure that all details are correct.
- WARNING: PREPARE TO TAKE A PICTURE OR SCREENSHOT because your tracking number will appear in a rather fast popup. If you’re unable to take a picture, then you won’t be able to check the progress of your cash aid. (This happened to me. I don’t know my tracking number because I didn’t know that it’ll appear in a popup. I wish the system would just text or email the tracking number to me, but there was none.).
After that, all you need to do is wait until your application for the cash aid from Makati gets approved. You’ll receive an SMS or text message from GCash if money goes into your account. This is the message I received when they gave me the cash aid:
After that, you need to use even a peso of your cash aid within 30 days or else they might take it out of your account. Since you have a GCash account now, you can use it to buy some load or to pay bills just to fulfill that requirement.
Aside from that, you can transfer the money to your bank account. Go to GCash, click “Send Money”, then “Send to Bank”. Choose which partner bank is the one you use, type the required details and click “Send Money”.
That’s it for now. I hope this guide helped you. See you next time!
