Marami itong laman na payo tungkol sa mga basics ng negosasyon at nagulat ako dahil palagi niyang iginigiit ang konsepto ng “win-win” (dapat manalo o may benepisyo lahat). Pinag-usapan na natin ito sa isa pang article tungkol sa negosasyon at naalala ko kung paano una ko itong nakita sa librong The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People ni Stephen Covey.

So I bought a new book called Negotiating 101 by Peter Sander and it contained a lots of tips about basic negotiation. When I read it, I was surprised at how much he emphasized the concept of “win-win”. We talked about this in another article about negotiation and how I first read about it in Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People book.

Kung may mabubuting transaksyon, mayroon ding nakasasama. Hindi lahat ng tao ay nakakaalam ng tunay na halaga ng iyong produkto o serbisyo kaya susubukan nilang bayaran ka ng sobrang baba (o hindi ka babayaran), at mayroon ding ibang gustong samantalahin ang mga mahihina at desperado.

Sa kasamaang palad, marami sa atin ang desperadong kumita at ang ilan din ay nahihiyang tanggihan ang mga alok o offers na hindi nila gusto.

Just as there are good deals in the world, there will also be bad ones. Not everyone knows how valuable your product or service is so they might try to pay you too little (or pay you nothing at all), and there are also those who try to take advantage of the weak and desperate.

Unfortunately, some of us are desperate to sell and some are too polite to reject other people’s terrible offers.

It doesn’t have to be that way. We shouldn’t be compelled to accept bad deals out of politeness. This article is about learning that lesson.
