UPDATE: AFPSLAI Dividend Schedule for 2022 posted! Click here!
UPDATE (7/16/2021): EDA for 2020 has been raised from 9% to 13% per annum. According to AFPSLAI, you’ll get the 3% difference after May 26, 2021. For the first quarter of 2021, the EDA is 14% per annum or 3.5% for that quarter.
While their dividend rates have gone down drastically to around 9% per annum since 2020, AFPSLAI‘s Capital Contribution Account (CCA) is still a very good investment vehicle. I pray that their dividend increases again once the economy recovers.
(Note: The EDA actually increased to 13% p.a. for 2020, and 14% p.a. for the first quarter of 2021. Look at the “Update” section above.)
If you want to avoid the long lines and crowded venue, I recommend getting your dividend a few weeks after the distribution period, and when you do go you should arrive very early. For comparison, if I get there by 8am on release day, my number would be on the hundreds already and my turn would come by 2pm or later. Nowadays, I go there weeks after release and arrive by 7am. If I do that, I can be done by 8:30am or 9am.

sir, good afternoon.,
just asking, matagal nang regular member ang tatay ko as AFP., pero gusto ko sanang magpa member as associate., possibly po ba ako ma member ngayon?.
salamat po.
Ray says
Hello Bernard,

Hello Macaria,
As far as I know, Associate Members are no longer allowed to deposit money in their Capital Contributions/Capcon/Green Passbook accounts.

Hello MJ,
Most likely pwede kang mag-open uli ng account, pero malamang baka hanggang Savings Account (Red Passbook) lang. Sa pagkakaalam ko di pa rin available ang CCA (Green Passbook) sa mga associate members.

Hi Sir,
Just asking, AFPSLAI sent a letter to my dad’s house stating that I need to appear in person @ the Camp Gen. E. Aguinaldo for verification of my membership data, which I haven’t able to do because presently I am working abroad and cannot come back home to the Philippines that easily due to the present pandemic. If I can’t do the verification in person does that mean my AFPSLAI account will be terminated? By the way my dad in the Philippines is the primary member and I am associate member and we share a joint account. I thank you for any feedback that you can offer.
Ray says
Hello Anna,
I just checked their website, and it looks like your dad might be able to help you. The AFPSLAI announcement (https://www.afpslai.com.ph/About/communications/news/2#) said:
“Should the associate members be the ones subject to termination, the principal members could retain their membership if their accounts have been updated at least once over the last 10 years.”
Maybe you can ask your dad to help you update your membership.
For now, you can try contacting AFPSLAI and ask them what you need to do. They’ll probably ask you to send an authorization letter for your representative (your dad, the principal member), though I don’t know the details.
Here’s their contacts page by the way: https://www.afpslai.com.ph/About/contact/custassist
I hope it helps!

JOHN RUVER EMBODO ASTACAAN says
Hi sir, I am an active member of AFPSLAI. I am considering to increasing my Capital Contribution. If in any case po sir di ko e withdraw ang dividends, Ma add po ito sa CCA or sa Savings ito mapupunta?
Ray says
Hello John,
From what I remember, if you’re a Regular Member the CCA dividends will go to your CCA account/Green Passbook if you don’t withdraw, but I’m not 100% sure. What I do know is that Regular members can still deposit money to their CCA accounts.
For Associate Members, the CCA quarterly dividends will go to a Savings account/Red Passbook, and associate members cannot deposit to their CCA anymore.

–Oct. 25, 2020 – P-Z
–Oct. 26, 2020 – A-D
–Oct. 27, 2020 – E-O

Ray L.

Precioso Jay Filio says
Hi Sir,
How much po ang divident for time deposit , do you have any info for any promo for 1 time time deposit , interest and holding period? (alternative to capital con.)
Ray says
Hello PJay,
I’m checking the AFPSLAI website right now and so far I can’t seem to find the Time Deposit dividend rate.
You can check their terms and conditions here: https://www.afpslai.com.ph/Products/deposit/tda
You might need to call them (https://www.afpslai.com.ph/About/contact/custassist) or visit the AFPSLAI branch.
They might have different rates based on how much you want to deposit and how long you want to let them keep it in the Time Deposit.
