Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, and Resurrection or Easter Sunday, the holy week is a very important holiday for predominantly Christian Filipinos. It’s when Jesus Christ and his apostles had their last supper on Maundy Thusday, had his trial, crucifixion and death on Good Friday, his “rest” in the tomb on Black Saturday, and finally his resurrection on Easter Sunday signifying his promise of eternal life to his followers.
This is also a time where students, workers, and employees get a much needed vacation from work. Traditionally, though most stores and malls stay partially open even on Christmas and New Years, a lot more (including huge shopping malls) close during Holy Week’s Thursday and Friday.
We’ll take a short break this week too, to make time for our own families and friends. For now, we hope you enjoy your vacation as well. We mustn’t forget the significance of this religious holiday, but for now let’s all rest up and enjoy our long weekend. We’ll see you all again next week!

If we’re talking about books containing timeless wisdom, you’ve probably heard about books like Sun Tzu’s Art of War, Niccolo Machiavelli’s The Prince, Miyamoto Musashi’s The Book of Five Rings, and several others. There’s one more that I will recommend to you, and that’s Baltasar Gracian’s The Art of Worldly Wisdom, a book containing over 300 aphorisms and lessons that still are still extremely valuable today.
In this article, we’ll talk about one of those lessons since it’s applicable to money, personal finance, and general success.

Ang isa sa pinakamahalagang aral tungkol sa pagyaman at pag-asenso ay ito: Ang pag-asenso mo ay hindi nakabase sa iyong kinikita, kundi sa natitira sa iyong kita.
May kuwento sa librong The Richest Man in Babylon kung saan tinanong ng isang matalino (at mayamang) tao kung ano ang trabaho ng mga tinuturuan niya para ilarawan ang isang mahalagang aral. Nakita niyang mayroon doong manunulat, may isang butcher (nangkakatay ng karne), at marami pang ibang trabahador. Iba iba ang kanilang sahod, pero ang mga pitaka nila ay pare-parehong walang laman. Hindi sila umaasenso.
Hindi ba dapat ang mga kumikita ng mas mataas ay dapat may mas maraming ipon kumpara sa iba? Bakit hindi? At bakit makikita rin natin ito sa karamihan sa atin ngayon?
Ipagpatuloy mo lang ang pagbabasa para matutunan mo kung bakit, at para malaman mo rin ang solusyon.
