A COMPLETE Lesson on Success and Personal Finance - Your Wealthy Mind

You can learn just about everything from the internet nowadays thanks to blogs, videos, and more. It’s just unfortunate that blog articles need to be short so they can’t really give detailed information on the things you want to learn. Books, on the other hand, have room for more information and thus they tend to be more detailed and complete than blog articles and videos.

Long before I started blogging, I spent over two years writing and rewriting a success and personal finance book. It took that long before I was able to complete my first “good” manuscript, and I realized that the work needed to publish it would take longer. That’s why I started blogging: I wanted to help people by providing helpful information for free! It took a couple more years before I was able to continue my book project though, and finally, this is the result:

By the way, here are three major lessons that you’ll learn there.

One great skill is the ability to adapt to and make use of the best opportunities that come your way, and my willingness to accept unusual opportunities has been tested recently. Since I don’t really like being seen or performing in public, the last thing I wanted to do is stream online. You might know the saying “life begins at the end of your comfort zone” and indeed, life has a funny way of giving you opportunities that require you to face your fears in order to move forward. That is the lesson we have for you here in this article.

Three Tips for When You Don’t Reach Your Goals

Three Tips for When You Dont Reach Your Goals - Your Wealthy Mind
Tagalog Version (Click Here)

Certainly, one of the most valuable things you can do to achieve success is to set long term goals. Unfortunately though, sometimes goals don’t work or don’t happen as planned. What do you do then?

Looking back over the last few months, it’s clear that I didn’t achieve a lot of goals on their proposed deadlines.  For example, the income I planned to have didn’t reach the amount I wanted, the book I was supposed to finish and publish last November 2016 needed several months more work, and there are also a few other personal goals I failed in that I won’t mention here.

Fortunately though, I HAVE reached some goals that I’ve planned before. One previous goal I had was getting my AdSense account approved by December 31, 2015… and it WAS approved on the night of December 30, 2015. Another minor goal I set long ago was that of consistently getting over a hundred views a day… and I’ve succeeded at it months before the deadline.

In any case, over the course of our lives we likely won’t achieve some things that we want by the time that we want them. What do you do when you don’t reach your goals? Here are my three tips.

Do you need Ambition for Success?

Do you need Ambition for Success - Your Wealthy Mind

For some reason, the word “ambition” gained a negative connotation as it conjures images of businessmen and government officials gaining power through corruption. In reality, ambition is simply a strong desire to achieve something that requires determination and hard work. There’s nothing wrong with it as long as you use honest means and it’s actually a requirement of success. If you’re not driven enough to work hard in order to achieve something, you’ll likely become a failure.

Why did I talk about this? It’s because of something I read in Orison Swett Marden’s book, Self-Investment:

The Most Valuable Ingredient of Success (that People Ignore)

The Most Valuable Ingredient of Success that People Ignore - Your Wealthy Mind
Tagalog Version (Click Here)

While walking around the Philippine Military Academy (P.M.A.) in Baguio City, I saw a plaque containing some very familiar words that I first read during high school C.A.T. (Citizen Army Training).

“We, the cadets, do not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate among us those who do so.” — Cadet Honor Code

That’s something we can and SHOULD all live by and it’s simply unfortunate that certain people don’t. Some people got elected into office by giving false promises and lying to millions of people. Some people obtained a lot of money selling cheap products and cheating customers. Some people also received ill-gotten wealth through crime and corruption.

While there certainly are people who became “rich and successful” through illegitimate means, you must NEVER make the mistake of thinking that it’s the only way to become successful. That wrong belief will either keep you in poverty, or it will encourage you to commit crime in order to “get ahead.” You won’t want the results of either of those. Always remember that integrity is an absolute necessity to become truly successful.
