Want to know the AFPSLAI Capital Contribution Account (CCA) dividend release schedule for 2024? You can check it out here! By the way, I had a much better experience on this year’s withdrawal attempt thanks to the AFPSLAI ATM Card. Instead of the usual four or five hour wait time from the numbered queue, I was done in less than 10 minutes. While I still needed to commute to the branch, AFPSLAI did announce that they will someday connect it to Bancnet which will let us withdraw from almost any ATM in the Philippines. If you want to get your own card, you can read our guide on how to get an AFPSLAI ATM card on this link.

Did you know that AFPSLAI now has an ATM card? If you want one too, then here’s a short guide on how to get your own!
If you’ve saved and invested your money in AFPSLAI (the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc.), then you probably already know about their passbooks and how withdrawals and most of their other transactions are over the counter. Because a lot of things are done manually, transactions are usually slower than most banks.
Last April 11, 2023, AFPSLAI finally launched their ATM card which will let you withdraw money from your accounts using their local automated teller machines (ATMs). Compared to the passbook, that system makes withdrawals and balance inquiries so much faster and more convenient. What’s even better is that they plan to link their system to Bancnet which will allow you to use your AFPSLAI ATM card on just about any ATM in the Philippines.
If the AFPSLAI branch that you go to can print those cards and if they also have an ATM in the building, then why not get one for yourself? It will make withdrawals so much easier. If you want to get your AFPSLAI ATM card (which is also your AFPSLAI ID), then here’s what you need to know.

Tagalog Version (Click Here)
If you want to travel abroad, then getting vaccinated can give you a lot of perks and advantages. You have to remember though that while the vaccination card or certificate you got from your city or LGU works all over the Philippines, it is not recognized abroad. If you want a document that is recognized all over the world as proof of vaccination, then you will need something called an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICV), which is what some people think of as a “vaccine passport”.
While it’s not an absolute requirement for some countries, having one will definitely make travel much easier. For example, in some countries it will let you skip quarantine requirements and/or negative testing requirements. Sometimes you can even get discounts. In any case, if you are already vaccinated and you want to travel abroad soon, then it’s definitely a good idea to get one. It’s relatively cheap and easy to get anyway. Here’s how to get an International Certificate of Vaccination in the Philippines.
Main Requirements:
- Vaccination card/proof of vaccination from your LGU.
- One valid ID (Driver’s License, Postal ID, etc.)
- Passport (with at least 6 months validity.)
- Email address for your ICV.BOQ.PH account.
Main Steps (Short Version):
- Register at icv.boq.ph.
- Add your information at the profile section.
- Upload scans or photos of your valid ID, vaccination card(s), and passport.
- Schedule an appointment.
- Pay online to confirm your appointment.
- Bring your original vaccination cards, ID, and passport to your BOQ appointment and show them to the BOQ personnel.
- Receive your International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICV).
How to get your National ID (PhilSys – Philippine National ID)
Tagalog Version (Click Here)
In the modern world, you NEED an ID. You’ll need it to prove your age and identity, register for memberships, verify accounts, and more. For more important business like opening bank accounts or investment accounts, then you need “stronger” valid IDs like a passport or a driver’s license which can be expensive and difficult to get.
Thanks to Republic Act 11055, however, Filipinos can now get a “National ID” which should be one of the most powerful proofs of identity in the country. It’s FREE and as of 2022 the application process is relatively quick and easy, despite the extremely long waiting time before delivery. The months will pass anyway, so why not register for one now? It should only take half an hour depending on how many people are at your registration station anyway.
What are the requirements? Two valid IDs, OR your original PSA birth certificate.
(As of this writing, they now only require one Valid ID. Also, click this link if you want to learn how to get your PSA Birth Certificate Online and have it delivered to your house.)
Note: The National ID is one of the easiest identity documents to get, and I really recommend it for people who do not have any IDs at all, such as people from far-off provinces or homeschooled children without school IDs. Just bring your original PSA Birth Certificate which you can get online or from a PSA branch. Take note though that aside from the National ID, the next “easiest” IDs to get are the Postal ID (1 week to 1 month to acquire) and the Passport. They’re not free though, and it will take a while to get an appointment slot for the passport.
