Paano Kumuha ng National ID (PhilSys – Philippine National ID)

Sa mundo natin ngayon, kailangan mo ng ID. Gagamitin mo ito bilang pruweba ng iyong edad at identidad, para makapagrehistro sa mga memberships, mag-verify ng mga accounts, at marami pang iba. Para sa mga mas importanteng gawain tulad ng pagbubukas ng bank account o investment account, kailangan mo na ng mas “malakas” na ID tulad ng passport o driver’s license, kaso madalas ang mga iyon ay mas mahal at mas mahirap makuha.

Salamat na lang at nasa batas na ang Republic Act 11055. Dahil doon, makakakuha na ang mga Pilipino ng “National ID”, at ito ang isa sa pinakamalakas na proof of identity sa bansa. Libre lang ito, at ngayong 2022 mabilis lang ang application. Ang matatagalan lang ay ang printing at delivery nito sa iyo. Magdadaan din ang panahon, kaya bakit hindi ka na magrehistro ngayon pa lang diba? Wala pang kalahating oras ang proseso, depende sa dami ng tao sa registration station na pupuntahan mo.

Ano ang mga requirements? Dalawang valid IDs, o orihinal na PSA birth certificate.

(Sa panahong isinulat ko ito, isang valid ID na lang ang kailangan nila. Kung gusto mo nga palang makakuha ng birth certificate dahil wala ka pang ID, i-click mo lang itong link para malaman kung paano kumuha ng PSA Birth Certificate Online at ipadeliver ito sa bahay mo.)

Paalala: Ang National ID ay isa sa pinakamadaling identity document na pwede mong makuha sa panahon ngayon at inirerekomenda ko ito para sa mga tao na wala pang ID tulad ng mga nakatira sa napakalayong probinsya o mga batang homeschooled at walang school ID. Dalhin mo lang ang iyong orihinal na PSA Birth Certificate na pwede mong makuha online, o sa isang PSA branch. Bukod sa National ID, ang susunod na medyo madaling makuhang mga ID ay ang Postal ID (1 week hanggang 1 month bago makuha) at ang Passport. Hindi nga lang sila libre, at matagal ding makakuha ng appointment slot para sa passport.

In the modern world, you NEED an ID. You’ll need it to prove your age and identity, register for memberships, verify accounts, and more. For more important business like opening bank accounts or investment accounts, then you need “stronger” valid IDs like a passport or a driver’s license which can be expensive and difficult to get.

Thanks to Republic Act 11055, however, Filipinos can now get a “National ID” which should be one of the most powerful proofs of identity in the country. It’s FREE and as of 2022 the application process is relatively quick and easy, despite the extremely long waiting time before delivery. The months will pass anyway, so why not register for one now? It should only take half an hour depending on how many people are at your registration station anyway.

What are the requirements? Two valid IDs, OR your original PSA birth certificate.

Note: The National ID is one of the easiest identity documents to get, and I really recommend it for people who do not have any IDs at all, such as people from far-off provinces or homeschooled children without school IDs. Just bring your original PSA Birth Certificate which you can get online or from a PSA branch. Take note though that aside from the National ID, the next “easiest” IDs to get are the Postal ID (1 week to 1 month to acquire) and the Passport. They’re not free though, and it will take a while to get an appointment slot for the passport.

Bakit Kailangan Nating Gumawa ng Emergency Fund Account

Sino ba naman ang magaakala, diba? Sino ang makakaisip (bukod kay Bill Gates) na magkakaroon ng ganito kalalang pandemya na pipigil sa ilang mga bansa, magpapalugi ng libo libong negosyo, at mawawalan ng trabaho at hanapbuhay ang milyon milyon.

Habang nagbigay ng suporta ang gubyerno ng Pilipinas sa mga hindi makapaghanapbuhay gamit ang ilang social amelioration programs (SAP o “ayuda”), sa kasamaang palad, madalas hindi ito sapat.

Sa ngayon, kahit nagbalik na ang ilang negosyo dahil sa general community quarantine (GCQ) ngayong Hunyo, mukhang hindi pa rin nagflaflatten ang curve at marami pa rin ang hindi makapaghanapbuhay, tulad ng mga jeepney at bus drivers, atbp. Hindi rin ganoon karami ang mga tao sa labas at karamihan sa mga maliliit na negosyo na nakikita ko ay naghihirap ngayon. Marami rin ang nagsarado na nang tuluyan.

Nakakalungkot talaga.

Sino nga ba naman ang magaakala na mangyayari ito, di ba? Ako hindi ko rin inakala.

May dahilan kung bakit palaging sinasabi ng mga personal finance instructors na mag-ipon ka ng isang “emergency fund”, at ipinakita nitong pandemic o pandemyang ito kung bakit.

Why We All Need to Build an Emergency Fund Account

Who knew, right? Who could have predicted (aside from Bill Gates) that such a wide-scale pandemic would paralyze entire countries, leave thousands of businesses bankrupt and millions without a job or income.

While the Philippine government have tried to support people who have not had any income during the quarantine with some social amelioration programs (SAP, locally called “ayuda”), unfortunately, it was not really enough.

While some businesses restarted during the general community quarantine (GCQ) in June, the curve does not seem to have flattened at all and there are still a lot of people unable to return to work, such as Jeepney and bus drivers, etc. There’s also not a lot of people around and most small businesses I see seem to be struggling. Many have also closed permanently.

It’s a sad reality.

Who knew something like this would happen, right? I certainly didn’t.

There’s a reason why a lot of personal finance instructors tell people to save up an “emergency fund”, and this pandemic showed us exactly why.

Ang Limang Batas ng Pera: Ilang Payo Tungkol sa Pag-Asenso

Ang librong The Richest Man in Babylon ni George S. Clason ay ang isa sa pinakapopular na libro tungkol sa pera at personal finance at irerekomenda ko ito. Buti na lang, ito’y itinuturing nasa public domain kaya medyo madali nang makahanap ng libreng digital na kopya nito online.

Sa palagay ko, ang isa sa pinakamabuting katangian ng librong iyon ay kahit na ito’y tungkol sa isang komplikadong paksa tulad ng paghahawak ng pera o money management, gumagamit ito ng mga simpleng kuwento para ituro ang napakaraming mahahalagang aral tungkol sa pagyaman at pag-asenso. Ang isang mahalagang kabanata dito ay tungkol sa “five laws of gold” o ang limang batas ng pera. Ang limang payo na iyon ang tatalakayin natin dito, kaya ipagpatuloy mo lang ang pagbabasa upang matutunan mo ang mga ito!
